PURPOSE

Kaipaki Berryfruits Limited (KBL) is committed to providing the highest levels of quality products and service and endeavors to interact with all stakeholders including its staff, suppliers, customers, and the public in an honest, courteous, and professional manner.

We respect the privacy of personal information that is provided to us and manage that information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (“the Act”). KBL is committed to the protection of personal privacy and supports a work environment
that abides by the Act and in particular the Information Privacy Principles contained in the Act.

The Privacy Policy describes how we treat any personal information that we receive. The objective of this policy is to provide a fair, consistent and transparent guideline for handling personal information in a professional and ethical work environment that will ensure compliance with the Act.

This policy applies to all KBL personnel together with any independent contractors, agency/ temporary staff, or consultants.

This information is stored either in hard copy/paper files or on our electronic databases. KBL takes reasonable steps to ensure that all information (personal and general) is stored securely and only appropriate people within our organization are permitted to access, modify or disclose this information. KBL operates various security systems to minimize the risk of misuse of electronically or manually stored information.

Access to information is on an as-required and need-to-know basis. Information, both personal and general, may be stored for up to seven years, or longer periods, if required to comply with KBL’s obligations, legal or otherwise. In the case of KBL personnel records, or similar obligations, the time period commences from the date of the person leaving KBL. After this time period the records are then destroyed.

Unique identifiers

A unique identifier may be assigned where necessary for the efficient management of our relationship and the provision of our services. In the case of employees this would be an identifier such as a payroll number. For suppliers, customers, and service providers the identifier would be an account code or equivalent.

In accordance with your rights under and subject to the Act, upon presentation of appropriate identification, we will provide access to personally identifiable information we keep about you to determine what this information is and to correct the information if it is found to be inaccurate.
